Case in point: each leg higher in the price of BTC during January and February was marked by dozens of <a href=\"https:\/\/wncen.com\/2020\/02\/26\/crypto-carnage-100-million-bitcoin-longs-liquidated-minutes\/\">millions of dollars worth of short liquidations<\/a> on margin trading platforms like <a href=\"https:\/\/wncen.com\/2020\/02\/07\/bitcoin-funding-rate-hit-high-bitmex-btc-historically-fell-7-percent-after\/\">BitMEX<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>While the majority seem to have been caught off guard, one trader called the crypto market&#8217;s then-emerging uptrend: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Sawcruhteez\" rel=\"nofollow\">Tyler &#8220;Sawcruhteez&#8221; Coates<\/a>. Just a day after New Year\u2019s Day, the prominent trader claimed that Bitcoin was starting to show signs it was forming a textbook Wyckoff Accumulation and Spring pattern. The pattern, Sawcruhteez suggested, implied BTC was going to hit $9,200 in the middle of January.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/ER9cZRNWsAInUdG.png?ssl=1\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/p>\n<p class=\"svecc-content-banner-added\">And that it did. By January 17th and 18th, the leading cryptocurrency had passed above the key psychological and technical resistance of $9,000, leading Ethereum and the rest of the altcoins higher.<\/p>\n<p>Now, he thinks ETH is preparing to explode higher.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Top Analyst: Ethereum Could Soon Surmount $300<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Sawcruhteez recently noted that the second-largest cryptocurrency, ETH, is showing clear signs that it has recently bottomed and is preparing to reverse higher to new local highs from here: the price recently bounced off a two-month-long uptrend that has supported the steep rally, while crossing above key exponential moving averages.<\/p>\n<p>This, he claims, gives the cryptocurrency the potential to rally 50% to 2019&#8217;s high of $360 in the coming months.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24ETH&amp;src=ctag&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">$ETH<\/a> at $232&#8230;don&#39;t mind if I do \ud83d\ude42 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Xyck92SjCQ\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/Xyck92SjCQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Tyler Coates (@Sawcruhteez) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Sawcruhteez\/status\/29177345?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow\">March 5, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Not Entirely Unfounded<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Sawcruhteez&#8217;s optimism about Ethereum isn&#8217;t entirely unfounded; there are others that are suggesting that per their analysis, the top cryptocurrency is preparing to surge higher, or at least will soon put in a strong bottom.<\/p>\n<p>Su Zhu, the CEO at forex- and crypto-focused hedge fund Three Arrows Capital, recently noted that the trading pair of the DAI stablecoin and Coinbase&#8217;s USDC <a href=\"https:\/\/wncen.com\/2020\/03\/01\/this-bizarre-factor-suggests-ethereum-is-getting-ready-for-a-big-upwards-movement\/\">may be a sign that Ethereum (and likely the rest of the market, Bitcoin included) has bottomed:<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cDAI\/USDC at the highs of the year now, a good barometer of risk aversion. May signal now is a decent re-entry level on the $ETH\/DAI and ETH\/USD pairs,\u201d he explained.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"svecc-content-banner-added\">He further went on to explain his reasoning, noting that DAI trades above its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wncen.com\/2020\/02\/28\/while-the-rest-of-the-market-tanks-one-cryptocurrency-is-above-all-time-high\/\">USDC peg<\/a>\u00a0when there are large ETH\/DAI liquidations.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cDAI trades above peg whenever there\u2019s large liquidations on ETH\/DAI, demand for DAI.
