Not ideal, but not uncommon either. It\u2019s easier to get stats about the Chivo Lightning node because you can <\/span>check all the public info here<\/span><\/a>. But wait, why is the Salvadorean government running a Lightning node?<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cJust like every other participant on Bitcoin’s Lightning Network, Chivo runs a Lightning node. Back to the iOS App Store and Google Play Store, the Chivo wallet remains at the top of the popularity list, \u201cbeating all the most popular social media apps like WhatsApp, TikTok, and Instagram.\u201d O bet you haven\u2019t thought about this one, \u201cBy onboarding over 1.6 million users in just two weeks, Chivo is likely the most popular Lightning Network app in the world today.\u201d What About The Other Bitcoin Apps? Are They Popular In El Salvador? Ok, granted. El Salvador\u2019s government incentivizes the downloading of the Chivo wallet app with $30. That has to move the needle. To put it in numbers, \u201c9 and 13 of the top 20 apps on the respective app stores\u201d are Bitcoin apps. And Chivo is at number one. \u201cMost of El Salvador’s banks and payment processors have user ratings of 2-4 stars,\u201d that\u2019s the traditional banking system for you. \u00a0On the other hand, \u201cBitcoin related apps have user ratings of 3-5 stars.\u201d Even though it\u2019s still early, the facts are the facts.
