Twitter is known for its ability to give anyone a voice. The social media monster is now taking a new approach to stay on top, and recently have established a dedicated ‘Crypto’ team, led by Tess Rinearson. She explained that the \u201cnew team is focused on crypto, blockchains, and other decentralized technologies” within the crypto world.\u00a0<\/strong>Lets take a look at what Twitter has said thus far, and what they have in store for the future.<\/span><\/p>\n Related <\/strong><\/em>Reading | Bitcoin Back to $64K?, Why This Time The Bulls Have The Winning Edge<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n Twitter’s team stated:<\/p>\n We\u2019re exploring ways to incorporate decentralized technologies into our products and infrastructure.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n This will be a good way for the company to continue exploring payments and other ways for people creating content to earn crypto, and the \u201cdecentralization of social media.\u201d<\/p>\n Rinearson pointed out that \u201cTwitter truly \u2018gets\u2019 crypto,\u201d referencing the company\u2019s bitcoin tipping and non-fungible token (NFT) projects. \u201cBut there\u2019s so much more to explore here,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n \u201cAs I build out the team, we\u2019ll be working to figure out what crypto can do for Twitter, as well as what Twitter can do for crypto,\u201d she continued, elaborating:<\/p>\n First, we\u2019ll be exploring how we can support the growing interest among creators to use decentralized apps [dapps] to manage virtual goods and currencies, and to support their work and communities.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n In the future, the team will explore \u201chow ideas from crypto communities can help us push the boundaries of what\u2019s possible with identity, community, ownership and more.\u201d<\/p>\n She finished up with this statement:<\/p>\n Twitter Crypto will underpin all of this work, and serve as a \u2018center of excellence\u2019 for all things blockchain at Twitter.
